Recent Events

CCT, in conjunction with North Texas Vettes, hosted another successful Roundup, our annual autocross event. For the first time in a long time the weather cooperated on both days. Except for a brief shower over lunch on Saturday it was bright and sunny the whole weekend. Twenty eight racers enjoyed the two day event. Attendance was down a bit from last year, but all clubs are seeing the same phenominon this year. The lower attendance allowed us to provide dinner each day as well as an extended hospitality time at the end of each day, so no one left unhappy.

On Oct 27th a group from CCT headed to East Texas to see the fall foliage and check out some nice antique cars. The trees didn't cooperate, as in Texas the trees are still green, but the weather was so great no one seemed to care. Just getting the Corvettes out for a nice long drive was enough. The antique cars turned out to be all Ford Model "A"s but that was OK too. Lots of nice examples of a true American classic. Funny thing was when we parked our Corvettes together it was almost as if we were part of the show. A bunch of folks walked by to admire. Of course we had plenty of opportunities for eating at local restaurants.

On Nov 17th a large group from CCT toured a local model car "museum". Actually the place rents real exotic cars and in the garage the owner has about half of his model collection on display. He specializes in Mercedes models but had examples of nearly all brands. After the tour we all went to Oscar's for some very good Mexican food.

On Jan 19th CCT toured Southfork, the place where the TV show Dallas was filmed. Very interesting tour and museum.
